Last week I shared our pledge to support medical supply manufacturers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. With all the unknowns surrounding COVID-19 I wanted to give an update on how we are handling the current events, and how we will continue to protect our employees, partners and customers throughout these unprecedented times.

As an essential service, we remain fully operational. With the strength of 100 engineers we are already helping medical supply manufacturers ramp up production and retool their facilities to support the COVID19 effort.

We will continue to use the following principles to guide us through these difficult times.

1. Ensure the safety of our employees

We are committed to protecting the health and physical safety of our employees. As of today, none of Vention’s employees have been directly or indirectly impacted by COVID-19. To ensure the safety of our office employees, we enacted a mandatory work-from-home policy on March 16th. To protect the warehouse team, who remains active, we have rolled out a 15-step plan, focused on creating a safe workspace, providing additional assistance to employees, and keeping our business running.

2. Help our medical supply clients fight COVID-19

We are ensuring that every employee adapts the business to the new environment, going above and beyond to empathize with the challenges our customers face. We are working with our clients to rapidly design and commission ventilator assembly lines, intensive care unit equipment, and protection screens and booths. These efforts span both the US and Canada. If you are a medical supply manufacturer that is joining the Canadian and US effort to fight COVID-19, we can bring strong expertise to your effort. If you want to see designs related to our fight against COVID-19 browse the design library.

3.Protect the growth of our business

While we have temporarily suspended all site visits, our experts remain available. Vention has been built as an online-first business and we are equipped to conduct remote design review, remote commissioning, and remote support. During these challenging times, we are continuing to invest in strategic areas like product development and virtual support services, more notably

  • Design review: Our application engineering team is fully operational and available through our website live-chat, video conference and screen sharing sessions.
  • Commissioning and technical support: Our customer success team is available through video conferencing; and by remotely connecting to your automated equipment for commissioning support.
  • Inventory: We are keeping Inventory above a normal service-level target to maintain a quick-turnaround time for clients.
  • Shipping: Our warehouse remains fully functional, with the team working onsite and adhering to a strict 15-step health and safety program.

While this is a major disruption for everyone, we believe it’s also an opportunity for us to reimagine how we connect and serve our clients and partners. If you have any additional questions, follow us on social media for live updates or get in touch. We are here to support you and will keep you informed along the way.
